| I've shot everything at least once. What keeps bringing me back to people is how much fun they are to shoot, their unpredictability, their stories, and the challenge inherent in making good photographs, under deadline pressure. What makes me good at this is my curiosity. I love to know what makes everyone tick. Of course not everyone is at ease being photographed, so that's where my second talent lies, in directing. When subjects spend time with me, they look comfortable and engaged on camera. Photography is ultimately a process of happy discovery- you never know where you'll wind up until you are finished. Realizing the end result never gets old for me, it's fresh every time. When we're done, I've learned something new, I've been surprised, maybe even charmed. |
